Busy....

...with trying to enjoy as much summer as i can possibly fit in. Summer is slowly winding down but it is still unbelievably hot here; so much so that Emma and i have even cut down our pool time. Who would have imagined that it would be too hot for even the pool?

But, it hasn't been too hot to get a little creative with cupcakes!

I love cupcakes. Especially cupcakes that are made from scratch and decorated. There does seem to be a bit of a cupcake phase going on in blog-world and it's been a lot of fun to see how creative cupcakes can be. Emma had a end-of-summer party at her school, so it was a perfect time to try to make these Beachy-Teddy Cupcakes.

I had a backup plan just in case these Beachy-Teddy Cupcakes didn't turn out because i'm a Mommy but i didn't need a Plan B as the cupcakes turned out really very well. The recipe is a keeper as is the icing recipe that i found on Hoosier Homemade (recipe is HERE). The icing was very good and is a keeper recipe, too.

btw, i love Liz's blog. She has so many amazing (and easy) ideas for cupcakes, among other things! If you like to bake and cook, you should visit her!

The last photo is of Emma on her last day of summer school. She's full of giggles after seeing one of the cupcakes that were headed to school with her! I was full of giggles, too, until i realized that this was her last day of school till September.
Then, well, not so many giggles from me.

It was fun, though, seeing how excited i SHE got over the cupcakes. I wonder where she gets that from? I mean really, ME, get excited over a cupcake? :)
