Today, one year ago....

...you, dear Emma, were put in our arms for the first time and our family came alive. No words can possibly tell you how much joy and love you've given us this past year. We are so blessed, little one...so very blessed. I was the first one to get to hold you, btw, just in case you are wondering! I remember the facilitator gently placing you in my arms and your studying my face as i studied yours. Your little hand grasped my finger and held on tightly...

As i sang "Happy One Year Anniversary" this morning when you woke up, you giggled and laughed and touched my nose. You almost seem to know that today is special for us. These photos were taken on our first day together...
