I love shopping at Publix. From the free kid stickers (i can shop for AISLES with stickers!) to the deli counter, i am so there. It's also a great place to go just to kill time with a toddler. Emma loves the race car buggy; for me, it's like driving a tanker trucker it's so bulky. I run into people, displays, counters, and aisles just trying to drive this beast of a buggy. I should only be allowed to drive that race car buggy with a horn that sounds, warning others that i am coming their way. But Emma loves that
Emma is quite the social chatter box in the store. She's almost like a Wal-Mart greeter as she shouts "hi" and "wat are youu doin'?" to other customers. While i like chatting to others, i'm, well, just not as out-going as Emma is. Emma also LOVES any and all senior citizens. Especially balding men senior citizens. I haven't quite figured out that attraction yet....but these guys love her back and love to chat with her.
A few weeks ago, i had to use the rest room, so i told Emma that we were going to go to the potty; never in a million years thinking that this bit of info would be told to older customers later in the checkout line:
Emma: "MAMA PEE-PEE IN POTTY!!"
Nice Lady Senior Citizen: "Did you pee-pee, too?"
Emma: "NO! I flwushed!!"
Me: "I am so sorry....."
Emma: "NO POOPY IN DWIAPER! THAWT'S DISWGUISHING!"
Me: "Emma, really....."
Nice Lady Senior Citizen: "heheh....yes, that IS disgusting!"
Here is the conversation from today's outing to Publix:
Emma: "Hi. Hi. Hiii! HI, HI, HI!!"
Balding Man Senior Citizen: Hi, there, cutie-pie!
Emma: "What doin'?"
Balding Man Senior Citizen: "Just shopping, cutie-pie."
Emma: "Did you fwartttt?"
Balding Man Senior Citizen: "Nope, Cutie-Pie! I did that on the other aisle!"
Emma and Baulding Man Senior Citizen laugh hysterically.....
....as i pray that a giant sized hole will open in front of me so i can disappear.
I promise that i do not teach Emma to say these things. I have no
Wait a second....Emma hates shoes. And she loves to eat with her fingers....
Never mind....really.
